2026 Birthing Facility Survey Reminder |
|
Each year, MNPQC sends out a Birthing Facility Survey to hospitals across Minnesota that provide birthing services to better understand and address Minnesota’s perinatal health priorities for 2026. We currently have an 86% completion rate and are still waiting for responses from 11 birthing facilities. If your facility has not yet completed the survey, please connect with our QI team at QI@minnesotaperinatal.org.

MNPQC is Recruiting Participants for a Patient Experience Survey |
|
Are you a Minnesotan who has experienced substance use during pregnancy in the last 5 years? If so, we want to hear from you! Share your pregnancy experience through an anonymous online survey. How to Participate: To determine eligibility, please complete the following screening questionnaire linked below. If eligible, you can expect to receive an email with the official survey link within 1-2 business days. Eligible respondents who successfully complete the survey will receive a $20 gift card.

Interested in Being a Member of the Minnesota NAS Consortium? |
|
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is planning to form and coordinate a consortium of professionals interested in neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). The Minnesota NAS Consortium will meet virtually and include professionals from a range of fields, including pediatrics, early intervention, and public health. The primary purpose of this group is to discuss topics impacting follow-up care for infants identified with NAS, foster collaboration among participants, and create a space to share knowledge and experiences to help develop best practices for the follow-up care of infants and their families across Minnesota.
Meetings will occur on the second Thursday of each month and take place from 12-1 PM.
Meeting dates are as follows: May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10, January 14, February 11, March 11, and April 8.

Join Us for Our Plans of Safe Care Sprint This April and May |
|
MNPQC is excited to announce that our Plans of Safe Care Sprint is now open for registration! Starting April 30, 2026, this free, educational sprint aims to support all communities that work with Plans of Safe Care (POSC) to improve implementation and cross-sector collaboration. This sprint offers the opportunity to explore strategies, implementation approaches, and policy considerations through presentations by experts in the field. Through discussion and collaboration, this sprint seeks to identify opportunities and practical steps to improve the efficiency of POSC workflows by bringing all POSC stakeholders into a unique shared learning space.

Save the Dates: MNPQC Perinatal Education ECHO Series |
|
MNPQC is excited to announce a free, biweekly virtual learning opportunity using the Project ECHO platform. The Perinatal Education ECHO Series is designed for individuals passionate about improving perinatal health care and will be held every other Thursday from 12-1 PM via Zoom. The series is open to a multidisciplinary audience, including but not limited to healthcare professionals, behavioral health professionals, social workers, public health professionals, and community organizations across Minnesota who are interested in strengthening perinatal health outcomes. Through case-based learning and interactive discussion, participants can exchange ideas, learn from peers and subject matter experts, and gain practical strategies to apply in their work.

New Parents: Access 24/7 Mental Health Support |
|
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) works to improve the health and well-being of American mothers, children, and families by strengthening public health capacity and funding organizations, communities, and academic institutions that share this mission.
One key resource is the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline, available 24/7 for new or expecting parents. Free and confidential, the hotline offers support via call, text, or chat. Trained counselors provide listening, guidance, referrals, and connections to local resources. If you are navigating pregnancy or the postpartum period, you are not alone.

Womb to World is a midwifery and doula service that helps families in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and nearby suburban areas feel confident and informed throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Their approach is evidence-based, providing hands-on tools and guidance with compassion so the birthing experience feels empowering.
They offer two main support options:
Labor Support Package: Prenatal sessions tailored to your needs, support creating a birth and postpartum plan, lactation guidance, and more.
Postpartum Doula Support Package: Flexible support after birth, including baby care, education, and emotional support.
